    Simple question - Two equally built trucks - Ones a 579 - The other is a 388.
My dealer is telling me that a 388 is more expensive than a 579 -
    True? Or no?

I would say that the 388 is more money.

Because its a proven Classic design? Or because of customer demand? I just didnt think it was worth a 13,000 difference at the dealer. I appreciate your input.

I like Peterbilt trucks, but I think your paying more for the name and look. The pete I like is the old 379 long nose. I just love driving that truck. But if I were to buy a truck today I would not get a pete. They want way to much. Get a Cascadia. Nice truck lots of room, and light in weight.

I purchased a 2013 389 about a month ago, its the new long nose but has an aluminum hood. I got a good deal on it, but it was on the lot, and ready to go. Im not too keen on the "feel". Sometimes, it feels like my steers make contact with the ground - you know, that floaty feeling. So this next truck i wanted to go back to feeling "grounded", which is why I looked at the 388. Shorter nose.
I honestly cant say that im a Pete person as well, but they offered me the best finance rates than anyone else...
My dealer is telling me that there's a 13,000 difference - that the 388 is worth more....than the 579
Im not closed to looking at another manufacturer, but i havent found one that is giving me a better rate like i said...

If they quoted you a Paccar finance rate you can get the same rate from your KW dealer and if the financing was from a 3rd party well, just pick up the phone and deal with that lender directly.
