It was night time about 5 years ago when I was going west on I-70 in the buckeye. I know it wasn't the best idea, but I was running 92mph when I got pulled over. The trooper didn't have any headlights or running lights on when he was catching up to me. I got lucky and he knocked it down to 73 in a 55. Cost me 2 points and about $220. Honestly I can't tell you the last time I went across Illinois under 75mph.

WOW!!! Thats just seem UNREAL... I'm not ready to end my trucking career, especially going out like that....

Like I said, it wasn't the smartest thing to do, but I don't let the grass grow under my feet.

One day I looked into my rear view mirror
And a-comin' up from behind
There was a Georgia State policeman
And a hundred dollar fine
Well he looked me in the eye as he was writin' me up
And said, "Driver, you've been flyin'!"
"And ninety five was the route you were on, it was not the speed limit sign."NavigatorWife and ke5adb Thank this. -
There are 2 reasons a few States still have the "no left lane for trucks" on their books.....
1. Emergency vehicles.
2. Military convoys.
#2 goes all the way back to the initial concept of Eisenhower and the Interstate system....the military has the exclusive right of way on any Interstate Highway, no matter their traveling speed.HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, 48Packard, NavigatorWife and 1 other person Thank this. -
You forgot #3...
Trucks slow us down so give us a lane we can speed to work in. Make sure you ticket them if they mess up.otherhalftw and 48Packard Thank this. -
And here I thought that the 'no left lane for trucks' was a knee-jerk by product of the 'rolling roadblock' protests from years past.
