Might of had a air line go bad. Check at the connections.
Best way is to take a bottle and add water and some soap. Then start sparying around the fittings and look for bubbles.
Turn the motor off to be able to hear the leak or leaks better.Logan76 Thanks this. -
if its leaking bad enough to drain the tanks and the air compressor cant keep up you should be able to find the leak pretty easily more then likely rubbed a hole in a line. might be plastic might be metal. good luck fixing it
-
Better get it fixed before MR.DOT checks you. Sounds like a pretty big leak!
-
yep, you get nabbed with that leak. and your OOS. till it's fixed.
-
You say it's leaking near the transmission? Could be a range selector solenoid or something. Does it shift OK? No codes?
-
yeah i agree i had the same problem with Hi/Lo range selector valve ,and it was the actual valve that had a bolt loosen its way out of the valve. I was only able to use high gears. boy was that a fun trip i had going home.
get under the truck and look for it.
I got rockwell 10 speed, mines is mounted on drivers side of trans. it has the two small air lines going up to the shifter knob and two big ones coming from the back. Check it out, it might just be the fittings for the hoses loosened up. -
Get out the soap and water and go to town! Check the main compressor line, cab airbags, and all the other mess around there. Also check your fan hub, mine was leaking and it sounded like it was under the cab. Kinda wierd... Good luck, you will find it with soap and water.

I had an airleak at the tank itself (the fitting that's molded to the cylinder itself had actually started seeping air, but not severely). I at first thought it was the connection, until I did the soapy water trick and it was immediately apparent.
If your transmission is experiencing the air leak, I'd assume you would have some sort of shifting difficulty.
