No offense taken derwood , none at all..we all make mistakes everyday all day long. But in the OP's case....DUI's and to make matters worse the decision to continue to drive after a license is revoked not once but 3 times...that shows any body that looks at it with just a little objectivity and "common sense" that the OP may just not care...or is not mature enough to handle the tremendous responsibility that must be shouldered by a driver entrusted with the keys to a commercial vehicle. Pokerhound67 nailed it...the OP lacks the skills to be able to judge that responsibility effectively...he proved it by his actions/or bad choices. We all wish him luck..... but in another line of work.

 

Some states keep DUI's permanently on your record. I know KY, NY an CA do. I have a DUI in 1984 with KY and it came up recently in discussion. DUI's are considered "criminal". Some things will never go away...... sorta like my first wife.

 

I may get blasted for making this comment but here goes...I look at it like this, when a man/woman makes the decision to become a professional driver and goes to all of the expense to go to school and then to make the sacrifice of spending lots and lots of time away from friends and family , then they also take upon themselves the enormous task of operating that vehicle in a safe and responsible manner. That means (at least to me it does) if that person makes the choice (and IT IS always ) a choice to have a beer , or a glass of wine , or a drink even if its just one with dinner or whatever the occasion...then they also MUST make the choice to either get in the sleeper or go to a motel and take the proper and LAWFUL amount of time OFF required before getting back under the wheel of their vehicle. NO excuses....any variations from that is and should be criminal. When you make your living with a CDL...you are held to a much higher standard...

 

So ...you don't drink....2 DUI's ...but you're not a drinker....Look man you asked for our opinions...On job searches...well you have to be qualified to do the job to start with man. You already said you haven't any experience with a semi.....yet you stand in judgement of some-of us who have been doing it since before you were born. Ever hear of asking the judge for a "privileged" license that would have allowed you to drive just to and from the machinists job...no YOU decided to break the law again.... not once but 3 times..and then you want to join the ranks of people that have spent decades on the road without breaking the most important law of driving...Man one thing I can say is you sure have some kind of attitude.....

Seriously, you came to a board full of PROFESSIONAL truck drivers, and asked our opinion. Then you got snotty, when you didn't like the responses you got.
What did you expect would be the response for a question that gets asked a hundred times a year.
