I start CDL training on the 21st and have been researching companies. I'm beginning to realize my options will be limited due to my work history and the number of jobs I have held in the past few years. I was irresponsible to say the least, burned a few bridges. Left some jobs without notice, terminated from 2 jobs for no call no show. My question is, should I omit some of the jobs I had, or is this just as bad as lying? I had one job I was only at for one day. It seems silly to include on an application. However, I do not want to go through an orientation just to be sent home on the last day because I was not upfront about my history. Can they even find out? I am 99% sure I am going to choose Swift. I want to get into their flatbed division. I have heard they will take just about anyone. I have a clean mvr and no criminal history. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Yes, you should be truthful on any job application you fill out. They will find out the truth eventually, maybe a day or so or week or month but they will find out and then you will up a creek without a paddle, or bus ticket!

A lot of these companies have their own private investigators whose only job it is to do background checks on the new drivers. Most are very good at what they do and nowadays it is very hard to hide your past!

I have a similar situation... I listed the ones i remembered.... Never been fired though.... Told my Swift recruiter that I may have forgotten one and he wasn't worried about it since I had already been cleared with the initial bg check from my understanding. Start school this monday or next depending on a dam ear infection.
