Welcome to our legal system. Here is your answer. If you feel that you have been given a ticket wrongfully, you have a duty as a citizen of this country to fight the charge. Yes it is going to cost you but not as much as it cost the lives of our soldiers. If you are only looking for a lawyer then you contact Thomas Blackburn who is a lawyer in Indianapolis. http://www.blackburnlegal.com/ I use him for traffic in Indianapolis. Other people can recommend other lawyers.
He will show up in court for you. It will cost you $300 the chances are the cop will not show up and the case will be dismissed. If not, he will get a postponement. At that time, you show up. You tell your side of the case. The Judge will most likely rule in your favor as the truck being governed is a fact that can be proven or dis-proven. You will of course miss work and have to pay for a motel. I always show up. I always pay the extra cost. I always win. Except the one time I ended up in Prison that is. That was for Child support and I ended up winning in the appeals court.
Do not kid yourself that "it is only a speeding ticket", it is the very fabric of our society. Cops can and do lie all the time. The cop will lie in court. Your showing up and challenging him on it, does us all good. You sir could be my hero. I raise my glass and drink to you. ####, a cop saw me drinking and driving, have to run.

As far as forever the 3rd lane has always been restricted from trucks but I would say it was a good thing you moved over and the letter of the law sometimes should not have to be so strict. Indianapolis is always a mess if you ask me, we saw one wreck where the truck ran into and pushed over the trunk area to almost the back post of the drivers window, I just hope there weren't any kids in the back seat.
Husband got a ticket a few years ago in our van, cop was in the opposite lane shooting coming toward us. We worked out of state so did not pursue it, but it was the other vehicle which passed us, we had too many kids in the van to be flying. Now that it really counts on truck license it is a shame not to be able to prove, I guess a dash cam would be nice with all the idiot drivers out there, they just do not have a clue how unsafe it is to cut in front of trucks. -
Wooly Rhino, I called Thomas Blackburn like you said. He got both tickets thrown out in court just this week. Nothing will appear on my driving record. I didn't even have to go there. He showed up in court for me both times. Thanks!p34ch3s, NavigatorWife, volvodriver01 and 2 others Thank this.

same thing jus happened to me on I465. I moved out to avoid the unsafe cluster of cars. I was exiting on 65 north wich was 6 miles ahead on the left. I was in the third lane. A cop pulled off the shoulder as I was coming past him he swung out and grabed me. he was only behind me for maybe 1/2 mile. I told him I couldn't get back in and I was exiting left on 65 north. nope he didn't care violation
madaxeman Thanks this. -
Truckers should boycott that city and state until this kind of harrassment ceases. Wouldn't surprise me if it was that stupid looking Payne
-
neal forman was the officer. he was the most uptight officer iv ever encountered, I havnt had a ticket in any vehicle for ten years and have passed all three of my inspections iv had.
-
Exactly and it's a revenue scam where they think you will just pay the fine because you are from out of state. I have no tickets. I haven't had tickets in well over a decade, too. I bet they didn't even do an inspection. What a bunch of cash bleeding, loser, con artists! Maybe if cops there didn't drive drunk, kill people and get sued, they wouldn't be so far in the hole.
-
He did and inspection, level 3. logs and everything were good. I didn't know they good put the lane violation on an inspection.

I encountered a state trooper in Oregon last month just like that driving a U-Haul to where I was moving to(outside Portland) last month. Biggest ### I've met since I was in the Marines. I made a genuine honest mistake. Now I'm looking at 5-6k in lawyer fee's. I was pre-hired at a company that I now have to put on hold. I even had to go book myself into jail a month after the charges. All because of a LEO who decided to be a jackwad becaue...well he can.
-
What does a lane violation have to do with an inspection? Makes no sense. Payne is the head con artist. He did no inspection of the vehicle or logs, no permits or insurance check...nothing! Then he whipped out off the shoulder and took off...and left me to pull off the shoulder in the middle of rush hour with a heavy truck without waiting. What a sack of crap!
