what good do screens do when you have the curtains drawn? What good do they do when you sitting in a piss drenched TS thats baked in? What good do they do when its 69 degrees and about 75% humidity or higher? What good do they do when 80 90 percent of trucks at a truck stopp will idle to stay cool?

    48Packard and Sal-XK Thank this.

You'll have to sleep so people can see inside your door windows I guess. Burn up after that.

I will not ever use window screens for my safety, as GirlTrucker already said, there are too many people around wishing to do harm to truck drivers because they think we have lots of money. I also do not sleep with my vent windows cracked because someone can just spray something in the cab and knock you out while you are sleeping and then break in your truck. Also, you do not have any privacy as MickeyRat stated. If you trust people that much then good for you, but I am a former cop, so I trust people about as far as I can throw them. LOL

Refer back to my concern about female drivers.....It doesnt even have to be a female driver issue though. You cannot secure your truck with the windows open with window screens in. It doesnt make any difference if you are parked at a TS with cameras, or a rest area. Mayhem doesnt take that long and by the time someone finds out, and authorities are called, the bad guy will be long gone. It is small consolation to a driver who was robbed or injured or worse that they got the perps photo on camera, or to the drivers family when he or she is injured or killed that the company sends its most heartfelt condolences. Once a life is lost, its gone, and the savings to the company by not idling the truck, and using window fans, isnt worth that. If we were still with SNI, we would not be purchasing window screens. There is nothing in that truck, or the company's P&L statement, that is worth a driver putting him or her self in harms way.

Well I know that in the summer time, I try to drive as much as I can at night into the early morning... That way the trucks obviously keeping me cooled while I am moving and when I stop for the "Day" Its usually pretty hot out, so I am "allowed" to idle. I just send in a qc to the dbl letting them know its freakn' hot out, and then I spend the rest of my 10 comfortable..lol

And yeah I have had them pull up the locla weather where I am stopped and tell me they see its only 75-80 degrees but, I tell them well my temperature gauge in the cab says 92-96.

Doesn't work all week though (DP/PU times get ya..)... When Its freezing, I never had too much of a problem with the wabasto heater. But then again, The western region doesnt freeze as bad as you drivers on the east coast.

Yeah, I'm beginning to realize that I made a mistake even coming to Schneider. I'll just get my experience and run after that. All this bull crap you have to put up with is not worth not being comfortable.

Sad part is, Outlaw, that SNI does some things well, especially for a mega. But they've lost their way and become too focused on their computer matrices, calculations, and theories when it comes to actually running the business

What is happening to SNI isnt that uncommon after the death of an owner, when it is taken over by the kids or worse yet, by outsiders. An owner knows that a business isnt always about figures on a balance sheet....its about people. This new guy, sitting in the big chair, doesnt know that. Someone said that they wouldnt trust him to organize an elementary school picnic. I think that was right.
