Starting next week in Marshfield, then hopefully the week after off with my trainer. I have tried to get clarified what I need if I have a cpap, but the recruiter wasn't familiar with them. I have an inverter from camping this summer that I used with a boat battery and gas generator, but I know that won't work OTR. My recruiter thought that they install the inverter for you in the truck, does anyone know? Looking at the cpap battery backups they are close to $300, so I don't want to go out and buy it if I don't need it. How does Roehl work out inverters for cpap, and what do I need to get? If there is someone up in Marshfield I should talk to please let me know. Thanks!

The recruiter should know this but I'm pretty darn sure that they require you to have a 10hr battery back up. Don't quote me on the 10hrs though. They will install a inverter in your truck if there isn't one already, but you have to pay for it out of your paycheck.

    GOlson Thanks this.

Mine is a 110 volt cpap, but I just use a jump pack and a plug in inverter for a back up, worked at home when Sandy knocked out power for four days, I charged the jump pack during the day when the generator was running and then used it at night for the CPAP. The jump pack is one I got a wally world that I use for jump starting a car or tractor or whatever at home. I don't carry it on the road with me, but I did bring it to orientation, but no one asked about it.

Roehl included a document called "Driver Conditional Hire Checklist" as part of the materials they sent me in the mail. On this list was the following:

"If you use a C-PAP machine, please bring a battery back-up for the machine as this is required. Your C-PAP machine must be able to run for at least 10 hours without the use of truck power or an auxiliary power unit."
