You are partly right. You WILL get conned into helping him tarp and secure. But you will not be conned into doing the logs. He will have a computer to help him with those.![]()

Welp, haven't been here in a while. So far, as a company, I'm really liking Melton. Good pay, nice people, great equipment. The miles aren't what I would like every week, but I started during the slow time of the year along with load planners getting to know how I run (hopefully, they are happy). But I'm doing ok. My worst week is my own fault because of home time. But I do have to say, minus the week I went home (not for the full week mind you), I'm averaging about 2200 miles.
So, I'm happy. My bills are getting paid and except for the home time week, I'm doing ok. And I get to have a dog with me. Nice to have someone to talk to now and again. He doesn't talk back, yet. But to talk to is nice LOL. -
I hope to see you guys out there though. From what I understand we pick up at some of the same places for legal loads. -
I am just reading all the info you all posting, I am considering Melton after my year with PAM is up. I've been on leave since late October for Medical and PAM has been gracious enough to let me be off all this time. I am kinda hesitant on doing flatbed, but I have been reading about Melton and they seem like a pretty good company. I know companies have their pros and cons. I have set-up to talk to a recuiter and I'll keep you all posted on my decision. To current Melton drivers do you run all 48 or certain lanes?

Melton is a 48 stater. The only real dedicated or regional we have is Texas. I'm a road recruiter, so I can answer a lot of questions you may have, help you with some info from a driver's perspective before you get with an actual recruiter.
mattbh23 Thanks this. -
Hey there me noggin, I been seeing you post on a lot of threads on here with some pretty good info and interesting stuff. I'm thinking about Melton and a couple other companies but I'm just trying to weight the pros and cons of each company and just gather information about them and you seem like the guy to ask about Melton. Is all there trucks T660 and do they have APUs? And what type of tranny(auto or man.). Also what the starting pay and how long do you go out with a trainer? Thanks man, you app be safe out there this wintery-spring
