Thanks for posting. I will be going on the range for the first time this week. Never driven a truck. Will be going out on the streets sometime this week as well for the first time. Videos like this are sobering to say the least. I was reading on the forum last night and benefited from reading through this thread that is docked under the regulations sub forum. It has some good information in it. My view is that when it comes to safety, I cannot get enough of it. The more the better.

Does the forum have a subforum for SAFE DRIVING? I did not see a thread docked in the New Driver SubForum. I think it would be a good idea to try and have all safety information in one place maybe. I know alot is on here but it seems to be in various locations. -
Fourwheelers don't have a clue what semis are capable of,they think semis are nothing more then a large car. There should be a law that noone can get their license permit or drivers license until they watch a video on semi safety.
Red Hot Mess, carl320 and Tonythetruckerdude Thank this. -
before long you'll see stupid stuff before it happens, like esp or something, not 100% of the time unfortunately
Red Hot Mess Thanks this. -
There are some accidents some drivers could of avoid

Why is it on a lot of the over sea's accidents, you see the drivers popping out of the window or the windshield?

I wasn't awake when It happened. (asleep in the front passenger seat). But a friend of mine came around a corner too fast, over corrected and ended up in a ditch and into a big oak tree. Keep in mind, this was a small Toyota pick up. Seems I hit the dash and bounced out the small back window, into the bed of the pick up. I'm glad I was asleep. LOLOLbullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
It kind of looks to me like a design flaw in the rigs. Low window/windsheild isn't going to keep the driver in the seat. But......... obviously no seat belts were in use either.

I have always taken driving a tractor-trailer very seriously. I know what can happen, and I know that it produces a lot more damage than a car. When I was leaving the drop yard in West Memphis one night, I saw a CRST truck ALMOST roll over into the ditch. He could have easily avoided that if he had just waited for me to get out of the way, so that I could get on the road. I kept thinking about that the entire night.... and was even more observant going around the curves in the Ozark foothills on the other side of Little Rock.
