Food distribution

    I just graduated from Sage truck driving school in San Antonio, Texas. Can you guys give me any advise on any good food distribution companies that hire recent graduate?

    I don't HEB hires new graduates. Any other suggestions?

    Check Careerbuilder. Also, apply even if companies say they don't hire fresh grads. Check which companies deliver to fast food places also.

    Sygma, Sysco, Labatt, Ben E Keith, Coremark, US Foodservice, Mclane....Some of these companies are better than others.

    dot in ardmore ok hires students...they deliver in san antonio all the time

    Most of the foodservice co's in Houston wanted previous experience when I was shopping around. You could always get a job delivering lumber for Lowes or something, work there for a year, then move on to food sevice if that is your desire.

    That's what I did- trucking school, got hired as Lowes driver, then moved on to local tanker job, paid hourly and four day work week.

    Thanks guys, was able to secure a job with Core mark and was able to get an interview with Sygma.

    I talked with US Foods about 2 years ago, and at that time they did not want to pay much but sure expected a lot. Then again, what company doesn't do that right? Food service delivery is a rough gig. Be prepared to really labor if you go that route.
