What's the deal with Maverick drivers not using their CB? I have been weaning myself off an addiction to speed. In doing so I get passed by other Maverick drivers quite often. When they go by I yell at them on the CB and 9 times out of ten get nothing but dead air?
I guess I shouldn't be surprised seeing how less than half of the Maverick drivers will even wave at you.

I always wave, but as far as the CB goes, mine doesn't pick up very well at all. Most of the time it is off. What are my options as far as adding a new antenna and running a new coax? I was going to put one on the headache rack. Does Maverick frown on this? The stock setup is junk!

Glad to hear that I thought it was just me. I always have my CB on but I will have squelch turned up if I can't see you I can't hear you. If I had a dollar for every time I tried to tell another driver he has a flat on the trailer, a light out, etc. etc. I could take a month off.

What year truck you have. On the newer ones sometimes the spliter for the CB are bad. I would check swr -
Thanks for the reply. I have some discussing to do with the wife.

I dont run cb due to all the trash on it anymore. I run a ham radio. As for antenna setup Ive had several company drivers tell me that they were told to use the factory setup,no exceptions. There were some angry drivers over this issue due to the poor performance of the factory setup. There were a couple who were told to remove their setup from the headache rack..

I always wave. And I can't recall a single Maverick FLATBED driver not waving back at me. Now the TCD guys on the other hand, almost never seem to acknowledge my wave to them- they just scream on down the road most times....
sewerman Thanks this. -
Really, a 100 percent wave back, outstanding. You must be one handsome fella or got something going on. I was pulling out of a Pilot in Evansville, IN Saturday morning and met a Maverick driver pulling in, we made eye contact, I waved, he looked away. Now I'm thinking its me....

I was thinking about buying an antenna for my radio so it can get out further. I had asked around to Ser if i could and know one has told me I couldn't . They only said mav didn't like it but would let you do it. And I have seen a few other drivers with it.
