So why are you having trouble?Whats the recruiters tell you?Do you have any otr exp?If not maybe that's your trouble, you won't just find a otr job without exp, you'll have to go out with a trainer for 6 weeks or there abouts. Is there any outstanding tickets on your MVR?

    Go small.
Find some place with a handful of trucks and talk to the man. I am sure after having been around trucking for 35 years you know all the lil outfits around your neck of he woods. Beat the pavement and stay away from the big driver mills. they call them mills for a reason , like a grinder see.

You got 35 years Driving, and no one is giving you a shot? If you stopped Driving for a while, all you need si a refresher course. Something is popping up on your Dac Report or something. If it's that you dont have OTR experience, well, they are recruiting Students out of Driving Schools to work OTR.?

they won't hire him becuase he hasn't been OTR recently. my dac is clean and i had the same problem. they usually want 12 months within 24 months and 18 months withn 36 months. or something like that. don't know what they want now.

some small outfit will come along sooner or later. it's how i got back out. but my mvr was also clean. now i have one speeding. and have since switched companies.

you should be able to go to a big mill company that will charge you for a refresher course with a trainer. but you don't want to go that route.

Being a mechanic doesn't mean you were a driver. Even having a class A and driving a class A wrecker doesn't conclude you're hireable at veterans status. I can't drive for 16 years and then apply as a mechanic with 16 years of experience either.

Try them. All new 2013 year Pete's with APU.

The worst that can happen is to be told "you need CDL school."

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Talk to Millis about their school. Go to their school and drive for them until you get experience to move on if you don't want to stay there.
