Are you Minister of Finance Jim Flaherty? Dear Minister, I hate to tell you this but you may wish to attend a tutorial on percentages.
Anyway, the directive to increase the Temporary Foreign Worker Program came directly from the Prime Minister's Office. The math on that figure may have originated from the remedial math class in Parliament. The increase in Temporary Foreign Workers under the reign of Stephen Harper is 100%, not 40%. There are now 500,000 Temporary Foreign Workers in Canada.

Jesus H Christ.. when will you Harper ball lickers stop blaming the Liberals and start accepting some accountability for things Harper has done
What was it Harper promised us...oh ya, to be better than the Liberals and more transparent, accountability.. lol
He lied.
And your defending him for making a program worse....lol. -
Couldn't have said it better! He's either related to Flaherty or one of the paid shills the Harper Government pays to spew their party line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpVUYGcgtjw

I know I've got you cause now you're calling me names.
I'm using numbers you guys provided.
140% in 6 years over 100% in 4 years is still an annual decrease in what is being allowed in. It's actually 93.33% of the annual rate previous to Harper.
Maybe you guys should thank Harper for slowing down a program you hate so much.
He didn't start the program that you dislike do much, the Liberals did. That doesn't make it right or wrong but shows how you selectively present your facts. -
Ok, you win.Last edited: Jan 13, 2013

What really burns me is that the editors of Today's Trucking magazine continueously go on as well about
"The driver shortage". I've addressed this with Peter Carter, but even now, I see Rolf Lockwood makes mentions of this issue even in this months issue (Page 11 January 2013).
Jason Rhyno - Associate Editor came out here last year to Alberta to go to a conference and met up with a couple of companies that get involved with hiring people from outside Canada. Neither of those companies mentioned have a good reputation of paying their employees well. So they go outside Canada to get people who will work for lesser wages, and basically get treated like crap!
I'm not sure why the editors of this magazine dont get both sides of the story, infact - I believe they choose to ignore
the facts from the drivers themselves.
We do NOT need to hire drivers from outside of this vast country.
But thats just my thought.... -
I agree with you but what happens in the magazines is....
They need to kiss the big boys ##### so the big boys will buy ads in their rags to keep them afloat...
Look no further than Truck News...the official mouthpiece of the Ontario Trucking Association.
I swear Menzies doesn't write an editorial without calling Challenger up first and checking in with Danny there to see if he needs his name mentioned in it... -
Maybe I should start up a Magazine from the Drivers point of view.... I doubt my views will win me any "Journalist of the Year" awards! LOL!

It all went south when Jim Park left Highway Star Magazine and then the magazine was formally closed. Peter Carter used to be a reasonable editor in years gone by. I had a few letters to the editor published over the years. Lately you can't get Peter or his minion Jason to even acknowledge a comment, especially when you disagree with them.snafu Thanks this.

Peter used to call and email me for advise. LOL
