Years ago I know of a broker who had his new corvette go up in flames right in front of his office...
Collection person was sent with all the papers showing del. was made and no claims. Person called and called, sent letters. The broker blew them off.
So collection man was sent. Broker said KMA, I'll pay when I feel like it. Ok. No problem,,,
Nice car out there, I'm vette man myself. . Broker said yep, just got her last week.
All smiles, Next thing he knew his vette was on fire. Never leave the top down.. HaHa.
Trucker got his money in 2 days after that.

That approach is little over the top. Awesome - but still over the top. (By the way check out my reference to the Stallone movie from the 80's) There is a MUCH better way to handle these people.

I've seen many customers dance around paying $1,000s in per diem 60+ days. Unfortunately there are still a ton of shady shippers and brokers out there. Recommend going after the shipper or consignee. They have legal responsibilities to the shipment too.

Who booked the load the receiver or the shipper, call them, lean on them... They will get the broker going.

Just remember if you need to resort to a nocturnal harassment campaign, the phone company fills thousands of law enforcement requests so turn off your cell phone or leave it at home before you don your camo and blacken your face! You will be tracked otherwise.

Thank you all for the input. Love the corvette idea, and funny that came up because he bought a corvette around the time I was working with him. This is a shipper, I am the broker and have paid all my carriers for his loads. I had to file a lawsuit on him a couple months ago and still in the works....I thought I had some recourse with his customers as well but my attorney says no, because my agreement was with my customer only (not sure he know this specific industry). I agree with atrucker......
