Interesting Code - MID 161

    I bought a 2005 9400i w/C15 & autoshift) last year and occasionally a big group of codes will pop and go inactive immediately.
    I check them out via the dash display(odometer) to see what they are and they are all marked inactive by the time I get to them.
    I was really concerned the first few times I spotted them, but since they weren't 128,130,136 mids... I ignored them and went on.
    I get 10 and sometimes as high as 18 codes thrown when it happens, typically coming off an exit and occasionally a rough clutch release at an intersection.

    Interestingly enough I've been working on a project which involved big truck codes and started to nervously laugh when I spotted the mid that my codes get associated with.

    The MID is 161. Figure that one out... "Aerodynamic Control Unit"
    The codes end up being things like internal failure, special instructions, mechanical not responding, low and high voltages.

    The truck has:
    eaton vorad, the codes come and go with or without it powered(fuse pulled, not removed)
    had a qualcomm in it, but it was removed before I got it. No cables were cut... they actually unplugged everything and covered the connectors.
    thermoking tripac ... obviously off, but it's there.

    Any ideas? I haven't seen anything strange mounted on/in the truck (other than me in the seat when i'm running-can't get any more strange than that).
    I've been through every ground & power connection on the truck that I can find.

    I sugest wrong instrumental cluster configuration, wrong ECM list

    Most important line there is this; " If none of the listed MIDs are displayed on the cluster LCD and there are no warning lights illuminated, disregard the fault codes and do not troubleshoot." This is straight from International. The cluster is not to be used for troubleshooting. The cluster also does not properly display fault codes and sometimes displays codes that do not actually exist. Again, if your truck is running fine and you have no warning lights, ignore the faults listed in the LCD display.

    I figured I should probably update this post... even though time has passed and I've gotten into a different truck.
    I know that I get a little disturbed when searching and find unanswered/unfinished topics.

    I spoke to International. This truck was configured for an Anti-Rollover device. The code (for whatever goofy reason) they set to 161.
    A rollover sensor was triggering a high/low. Yes, it can be ignored I guess since it's not a "pull over and fix immediately" item and it's not a truck affecting sensor(according to svc guy), it is disconcerting to have the dash "full sweep" and beep at ya.
    Anti Rollover is not showing on the build sheet, but I would imagine is part of the ABS or Vorad package. In any case, the service guy "recognized" something on the build sheet and that triggered a memory for him.
    His response was that it's cheaper to ignore or attempt to fix than remove it from the truck. ROFLMAO

    Sometimes these trucks can be too complicated for their own good. Bendix now has a fully integrated "vehicle stabilizing" system for the current models with roll and steering wheel sensors and so on. Many previous ECUs do have some those extra functions built in, but not actually installed or wired in the truck. These systems do glitch and spit out codes sometimes for circuits that actually do not exist. The Dash LCD display is just a reader, and it will read anything, even those phantom codes.
