The most money I can get. There is no set "rate".

But getting just enough to only cover expenses isn't it.

What is the "prevailing rate" out of that part of Oregon to New England?

That's what I thought. You don't even know your bottom line do you? What's your current load paying you?

Sure blanche, Have a nice night arguing with yourself. I can recognize a pig rolling in the mud around here.

    Ralph,

Current rate indexes from Monroe OR to Bennington VT are showing closer to $1.90 per mile.

So with this being at $1.45 per mile and still not including tarp or toll pay. WAY too low.

Thank you, that's the answer then PLUS the additional pick/drop/tarp/toll fees.

It still goes. You will have a huge bounce out to get a decent load to even average it out.

No way is $1.45-$1.65 a fair rate on a load so heavy and going so far. Guys like yourself that like this type of rate are the ones running the rates into the toilet.

$1.88/mile for going across the country is not a good rate at all let alone doing it so heavy. What type of business are you in as it must not be making money.

Why don't you think so? Guys go out of this business everyday because $1.88/mile is cheap for their operation.

I know alot of bull haulers that get paid this well for their runs. Maybe when you think about being a business man you might get out of the company driver mentality. Doubt it though.
I must say I think I have stated why you aren't a business man period let alone a good one. Some are better off staying as a company driver and I believe you are one of those.
