Cool! I get my new SSB radio tomorrow....looking to see how 100+ watts does on days when skip is rollin good.

I had it fade in and out a couple times yesterday but was running in heavy rain, fog and freezing rain all day.

    Hey Rat,

Motormouth Maul in Cali had 28 tied up today. I sure wished I had a set up like he does. I have never heard anything coming in from ND here in AR. but have heard folks talking to ND. I'll try some on 28 tomorrow.

To just listen, all you need is an antenna, the bigger the better! A base station antenna obviously works better (has better ears) than a mobile antenna.

    mrbamcclain Thanks this.

Like Mike said, the better the antenna the more you will hear. I can listen to chatter from NW Europe and Germany as well as Austrailia and New South Wales but they haven't heard me yet.

Rolling good again today. Was only in the truck for a few minutes after the sun came up but talked to a few guys in Florida from nebraska on 28, like they were locals.
