Alright been a long week. Got a truck thats been in the shop going on 3 days now, Im 1100 miles from home, My girls just found out yesterday shes got strep, and I've got a 2 month old son at home. Shop told me today the tractor should be done today called to them up an hour ago and it wont be done till tomorrow night. Guess the walls have finally closed in on me this week and I'm having trouble dealing with it all. Any body got some advise or good ways to deal with it? Sorry to whine and complain but seems like people outside the industry aint any help at all.
Help with a long week.

I take it your in a hotel room?
All you can do is wait so treat yourself with a nice meal and maybe a drink or two....
Relax and don't let the walls close in on you.
I was stuck 12 days in Dallas at a KW dealer....been there driver and know how you feel.
I hope they get you rollin soon!Lonesome Thanks this. -
that sux, man. so sorry. cant be much help im afraid, this is what happens in trucking. if the truck wont run, you sit. dont mean that to be cavalier, it just is what it is. if you work for a larger company, you can ask about getting reassigned to another tractor, but they probably wont do that based on one issue. never hurts to ask.

I feel your pain driver. Spent 12 days in the middle of Nebraska with a broke down truck once. Watched a lot of cable movies......

Never hurts if there is a good looking woman working the front desk of the hotel either...lol

I have found my self in similar situations or the years, once you comes to terms that your cant do anything about this, the walls will stop feeling like they are closing in on you. Watch a movie , get some dinner, take a nap, just take your mind off of it, the pressure will ease and then you'll find your self in a position to make a difference....

God,grant me the serenity, to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can,and the wisdom to know the difference. Its all about life on life's terms. You will get through this.Sometimes all you can do is breathe in,and out.
fireba11, NavigatorWife, Oscar the KW and 1 other person Thank this. -
They will be there when you get home. She knows you want to be there with them but cant do anything about it. Dont stress a new mother with YOUR problems (missing them and frustration with your job). Sorry to slap you around but sometimes a man needs to hear "man up". Call her twice a day and say "im doing everything I can to get home"... Stop there, dont vent to her, vent here.
This too shall pass.NavigatorWife and Ghost Ryder Thank this. -
