So, broker calls at 0845 offering me a load picking up 40 miles from me. It's roll of paper, going 800 miles, delivering in GA and they couldn't get it covered yesterday. Delivery scheduled for tomorrow morning at 0900, but obviously going to be flexible now. "The most we've ever moved this for has been $900"

My price? $1600.00 And I'm willing to do it that cheap because it's Coyote and they won't give me premium loads until we haul 2 'normal loads' with them. This would be my first.

He won't go any higher than $1100. Thanks, but no thanks. My route has a winter storm warning in states that don't know how to deal with snow on the roads.

If he calls back, my new price will be $1800.

    Rant over.

He'll post it on ITS for $1100 and it'll be gone within seconds.

I have booked PA to GA for $1500 before through a broker that has good freight in the midwest normally, nothing less. Rarely if ever more.

Especially with rates in Georgia supposedly being really flat at the moment, from what I've read.

I don't think I'd have taken that load at any rate, having to drive through that ice storm all the way through N.C. No way jose. I'll park my truck rather than have to go through that crap. Even as a company driver I would park my truck.

Well, I guess maybe I'd do it for $100,000.
