can you please explain better what do you want

do you have truck with scania hub reduction axle which have breakdown and you need parts? or you want to buy truck but you dont know which axle ratio do you need?

    tell me year

    and gearbox

and type of axles (11.5t or 15t ) and if truck is somewhere from 2004 and 4series is it equipped with older axles or new axles

why you are so stingy with information?

tell me is it 4series or p/r/t series?

if it is 4series from 2004 you can find 4different kid of axles/differentials on it

grs900 means direct drive , in combination with hub recuction this would be very slow transmission

until 2003 scania did not offered overdrive gearboxes because their politics was that on each transmission top gear must be direct drive

give me last 7 numbers of vin of truck it would be easier

Hahahaha...im not stingy anyway..i dont hv the vin number yet..it is 4 series truck with 420 hp..so wat is the best combination of gearbox and also the hub reduction gear ratio..

    hm look at this

if you have small bogie with 11.5t axles rbp730+rp730 than diff ratios are 3.68 3.95 and 4.24
if you have small bogie with 11.5t axles rbp735+rp735 than diff ratios are 3.67 3.93 and 4.22

if you have large bogie with 15t axles rbp832+rp832 than diff ratios are 3.91 4.21 4.82 and 5.18
if you have large bogie with 15t axles rbp835+rp835 than diff ratios are 3.96 4.27 4.85 and 5.14 at 2004....latter scania offered 6.5 and recently exchage them for 3.96 4.38 4.72 5.36 5.68 and 7.18 also this revised version have stronger halfshafts and different hub ratio

new 15t axles are 90kg lighter and have improved ground clearance for 34mm

revised differentials appeared feb of 2004

do you have picture of side of truck old and new axles are with different looking hubs

if picture is really good i can see from picture is it big or small axle as well

one is sure with grs900 in every case you will have slow truck in best case ~1550rpm at 85kmh with offroad 315/80r22.5

i would look for truck with grso900

you are again stingy with informations

well this really depends on work you do

try to explain little more what you do, do you have any pictures of terrain you drive over......

you can find different trucks for different needs

in some cases small differentials without hub reduction are ok , in some cases even largest are not good enough

how often truck go on such terrain

    gross weight? 70t?

how much hills do you have? do you have need to start from standstill on steep hill?

what is normal max speed you drive? and how often is it 50% of trip? more/less?

for example in germany where everybody respect weight laws 40ton gross is max ......something like 3.93/3.95 on 11.5t axle and grso900 is good combination both for on road and off road

here we load 50+t i would chose slower ratio lets say 4.22/4.24 but also on small differential on same gerabox

but if going more offroad i would chose big 15t axle ......and maybe even slower diff ratio

for example friend of my father have logging scania 6x4 with 3axle drawbar trailer, real strong truck strongest suspension , double frame strongest axles , big bogie , v8,only he have 8inch brakes instead of 10inch......but he have retarder...... he drive 70+/-t gross weight through difficult terrains , steep hills , mud, rocks, even more mud .......truck have grs900r gearbox (direct drive) and rbp832+rp832 diffs with 3.91 ratio truck have tall 315/80r22.5 off road tires and get 1750rpm at 90kmh.....also he does not only drive off road but also on highways so he need to sacrifice his road speed to get reasonable fuel consumption , if such truck is running less offroad or lower weight such gearing would be stupid , in his case it is good or even bit too fast

but if you run 70t and only 420hp this will be very weak you maybe dont need fast truck since 420hp is not enougth for such weight and high speeds maybe it is better to have slower truck.....it will improve offroad performances

also if you are able try to find truck with overdrive gearbox and slower diff ratio , this would extend lifetime of driveline components .....because you are always half gear faster in gearbox this would create less strain on both gearbox driveshafts but also on power devider and differentials

in place where i am born in bosnia there is many log trucks which have very slow differential ratios

most of them cant go faster than 60kmh at max rpm , and they love trucks like that , diff ratios are about 6 and direct gearboxes , they run sometimes 100t or more depend on type of wood

this is what i am talking just example that you must explain your conditions i cant guess what you need

also here many people need light log trucks with good fuel efficiency, because they are driving cross borders so 40t+3% is max and they need trucks which will use same amount of fuel as road vehicles
