Funny how we all ended up with the same old story... Could this many people, who don't even know each other I might add, all be lying? You can't make this stuff up! Good luck to all you guys! I hope this year is the best year of our lives! (I was Bill Bosko on Gary's site) got canned for posting a question accompanied by a poll as to why so many people were quitting and selling off their equipment. If your reading this the best advice I can give you would be to do your research.... And learn from others mistakes. No need for you to go down the wrong path too!

    Hi MC2Xpress,

Yes, that was me (I guess I should say, "is me", as he hasn't deleted my posts yet).

I got banned because I did something wrong. I posted a link to the Dispatch Service my son and I started. It was stupid and I wasn't thinking because the post I was replying to mentioned 4 or for others so I thought it would be cool. I understand that part, the part I don't understand is why he chose to lie about about our dispatch service in the post that followed. Here's why...

My son and I started with them last August. We drove to Bonham TX to get our trailer (from Central FL). We stayed out for 3 weeks. During that time, our wheels turned for only 11 days. The days we sat waiting, they would never call. When we would call, we felt as if we were bothering them. Once, we started looking on the free load boards and called to tell them about a load we found. Danny blew up!! Tell me, why would ANYONE do that to a paying customer?

The other thing that didn't sit well with us is that when we would call them to let them know that we were going to deliver our load in at 9am the next the morning, we could get, "Let us know when drop it off and we'll look for another load for you" We would ask ourselves why aren't they looking and preplaning for us so we can be ready to move again?

Our eyes were opened when we were sitting in a hotel in Cason CA. We entered all our income and expenses into the software we use. We got really depressed. In almost three weeks, we brought in (the exact figures escape me) $5400. After expenses, we were left with $1700. I called Gary the next day and filled him in and suggested that something needed to change. He said it was because my son and I are running together. Not so. We brought all our food with us, stayed in the cheapest hotels ($29 to $40). Anyway, after the phone call, Gary calls me back and said that he went thru our dispatches and we should have made $5600 not $5400. I laughed (sarcastically) and said, OK Gary, whatever you say. We did some serious praying and came to conclusion that if we didn't get a load the next day, we would sever the ties with them.

We called Danny to let them know we are ready, left the hotel and sat in Longbeach at a small truck stop in town. I think this was on a Tuesday. My wife was scheduled for surgery the following Wednesday and they were suppose to be trying to move us east so I could be there. 1pm rolls around and still no call from M&H Logistics. Not even a, "We're still looking" call. We wanted to call them but what good is that? They would just say they don't anything for us yet. So we waited. We agreed that if we didn't hear anything by 3:30pm, we would head home on our own. Around 2 or so, Danny calls and said that he has a 14k generator going to Miami. We started to get excited. Then he said it was paying 44 cents a mile. Since our operating costs are 87 cents a mile, we said that we would have to refuse the load. Danny slammed the phone done without another word.

A few minutes later, Gary calls and wants to know what's up? I told him that I cannot drive 300 miles past my home to deliver a 14k generator for 44 cents miles. I would wind up loosing money. He agreed with me. I then explained to him that we cannot continue like this and that we were going to try it on our own. There we no arguments or bad words, we both wished each other the best of luck.

So....After we got home...Oh, how did we get home? Probably the longest deadhead in history! LOL From Longbeach CA to DeLand FL, almost 2500 miles. with 5 days of driving, I didn't feel I could be home for my wife's surgery if we tried to find loads to get home. So, $1300 out of my pocket to make the trip.

So... After we got home, I began dispatching my son. the first week out was a load from Pensacola FL to Nogalez AZ for $1.66 per mile. The next load was from Tuscon AZ to Baxley GA for $1.57 a mile. In a week and a half, we had already made more than the 3 weeks with M&H Logistics. Could this be real??

As luck would have it, my son broke his wrist on the job and has since developed a medical condition that doesn't allow him to drive any longer (unless the doctors can correct it). With a family of six, we need to find a way for him to support his family. He suggested we add a Dispatch Service department to our hotshot business. He found a domain name and created a website. Up to this point, we have 3 hotshot drivers (that include me! LOL). We have determined that, for now, 4 is our maximum. If I come off the road at some point, that number will increase, but for right now, I think I can make more money driving

Why M&H Logistics decided to say what they did about it is beyond me. Here's a quote from that post on their forum:

"I've been getting calls from guys using that service. They said they going under and wanted to come on with us but unfortunately I didn't have the room on my board."

Now, why would someone outright lie like that. First of all, our dispatch service had only been in business for a week and the only one my son was dispatching (at that time) is me!

Here is another lie taken from the same post:

The real kicker is they back solicit everyones customers/ connections. The company link that was posted has contacted most of our connections trying to get our work. Our connections just laughed at them and told them to call Gary if they want one of their loads

It is really sad when someone feels they have to make such bold accusations. Let's see, they dispatched us for 3 weeks and M&H Logistics claims that we contacted most of their connections? Let's see... we had about 6 or 7 loads in that three weeks. Hmmm....something doesn't seem to add up here. Are their any lawyers here? Is that considered slander?

    Oh well, enough of this.

The only thing I can add would be what others have said here.... Take heed if you're are going hire M&H Logistics to dispatch you. The claims of $4k to $5k weeks seem to be only for their trucks. You should know that they are also Brokers and they run Fleet Service.

One good thing I can say is that their forum contains a lot of good information and Gary is helpful and provides good information (most of the time). Just be careful of being sucked in.

    Much Success

    Bill

We spent 5 days east of there in Strausburg at the Strausburg Inn waiting for a load from M&H Logistics. All I could see was $$$$$ going down the drain! Ugh!

Great Inn Keeper though! Let us use the house washer and dryer. :biggrin_255:

    Much Success!

I got banned from the forum because Gary insisted that I posted a link to a virus filled webpage (it was NOT, I know what I'm doing, I've been in IT for nearly a decade) and a horsepower calculator spreadsheet that helps you determine horsepower and fuel consumption for trucks vs grade and load. Neither are infected or bad in any way.

I'm still possibly interested in becoming a hot shot guy myself... Though Gary's introduction to the business was a real slap in the face.
