Whatever happened to living your life in a legal and upstanding manner....Listening to your parents, finishing school, not to mention obeying the law....I'm sorry for the OP, but He did make those bad choices. Now later in life he wants to blame the system for protecting itself from the likes of people that he says he used to be. Get your act together ...pay your school debt, then maybe you'll find a company that will hire you. But with a history like yours I really doubt any top of the line company will though. There are too many folks trying to get those jobs that made the right choices....sorry but you asked for the truth...Good Luck

I don't think this was ever asked or the OP never said anything about why he hasn't worked for a couple years... Was it because you were locked up and in jail for those charges and criminal history? Is that why you have not worked? Be honest as you come this far..

the economy sucks. i cant find a job either. lthe first and last company i was with left a bad taste in my mouth (some people there did. company was itself tops) so i left trucking. i dont think its his last resort and seeing as how i can barely get a job i can see how op has been unemployed for 2 years. it happens. dont bash the guy. not until he proves that he deserves it. plus im assuming he is walking the straight and narrow now that the law slapped the crap out of him.

Problem is that there are jobs out there but u have to go to the job, the job wont come to you. The OP might want to check into oil field jobs in ND or CO or TX. Wy has alot of jobs open, even McDonalds pays over $10 per hour as they can't hardly find workers.
I know that these are real cold weather states but spring is a coming and you might be able to get a prehire for a job before moving. -
ding...ding...ding...we have a winner. This is your #1 problem right here. Companies have their choice of literally thousands of other applicants, competing for truck driving jobs, that don't have any record to speak of, be it criminal or driving. So they don't need to run the risk of "taking a chance" on someone who has a blemished past like yourself. You say your most recent charge was criminal damaging in 2010....what was that all about? That was only 2 years ago. If driving a truck is actually your dream, you may have to face facts, and look for another line of work for a few years, until you've put some distance between those charges, to prove you have learned your lesson.CondoCruiser Thanks this.

You must start now with a resume going back 10 years. On the resume put the jobs with dates phone numbers, person to contact, and the periods of unemployment use a notarized letter from a family member stating you were unemployed and looking for work. You need this resume with no unexplained gaps, for the full 10 years. You must submit this resume with each application.

Funny how 90% of us get through life without ever having handcuffs on but some people talk about MULTIPLE arrests like its just a "silly mistake". NONE of them are EVER your fault, none of them were for anything serious, all of them should be expunged.
Every action you take in your life has consequences. I have been SOOOO inconvenienced dozens of times (my friends too) by having to call a friend or get a cab when out drinking (no DUI's) I have wanted (many times) to bust someones head for some stupid thing they said (no assault charges) but I don't...
If the OP had ONE arrest when he was 19 for some stupid prank or for knocking out a guy who deserved it, ok (one time mistake by a kid) but multiple times while an adult.. No Im not trusting you with my $180,000 truck and trailer with my name on the door.
Big companies wont even talk to him, small companies that are willing to hire someone like him are probably hacks that will burn him.
Too many good drivers with ZERO arrests out there looking for a job.HotH2o, Tonythetruckerdude, Treefork and 1 other person Thank this. -
I don't know who hires felons and people with poor records, as I do not have that issue to deal with. However, I do know that there are plenty of outfits out there that hire anyone they can. May not be a stellar company and the pay may suck, but what can you do?
Many, many companies list there requirements as they pertain to criminal/driving records on there website. I know they all have phone numbers on them. So search every company you can think of, call all of them and be more proactive in the search.
This link took me less than a minute to find. I do not know how accurate it is, but its a starting point I guess.
