I make that as a company driver. Not sure why some O/Os out there take on the headaches of that side of the industry for the take home pay of a company driver. I would be wanting to take home 1500+ a week as an O/O. Atleast once I become established and learn the ropes.

Wow. Guys like that scare me a lot. Makes me think twice about getting my own authority. Thanks to the last post I'll sleep better. If this guy takes this load, I would be proud to say I make more working 12hr days 5days acweek home every day local work and less miles on my truck a lot less.

Unless you can 'pour' that load into a tanker, I wouldn't do it. Tarping/untarping 4 times, two pick up stops and two delivery stops, an estimated $1.45/loaded mile into a place that even us tanker drivers know is no man's land for freight (even syrup is a rare commodity going out of VT). Wear and tear I rate at $0.08/mi X 3200 miles alone = $256.00. At $4.50/gal (going rate) for fuel at 5 mpg (I get more but I'm not settling for a loss) is 640 gal X 4.50 = $2880.00 for fuel... are we getting closer to why the load sucks now?

Adding up fuel, hourly rate, the huge increase in tolls and other 'amenities' and you start to see why EVERY trucker out here thinks that load sucks.

I think so too (and I don't drive a flatbed).

Lol, yeah. I'd buy a truck and go live in the #### thing if freight paid $4/mi.

In the first three weeks of the year, I've driven 6,599 miles with a total revenue of $15,317. Total profit I have calculated as $7,243. Or, $1.097/mi.

Who would even think of running for themselves at starter company driver pay?

    P.S., I haul reefer.

    Depends on the area.

Are you talking gross, or per mile, or the total profit or profit/mile?

I did $15700 on 7000 miles this month. All miles driven.

For a reefer, that just seems low.

Either way if I had enough funds saved I would be trying to find that kind of stuff and buy my own truck. Hey MN out of curiosity what kind of pay do you see for team van freight?
