    Hey TruckersReport,

I am interested in hearing any wild and crazy stories the experienced, and maybe even rookie, drivers may have from over the road. I know you have had traveled here, there, and everywhere and see many things. It could be sights, people, wrecks, etc. I expect that when I become a driver I will have many wild and crazy stories to tell. I just want to get an idea of some of the things I might see while out on the road. I can't wait to here your stories! Thanks in advanced!

new years day around 1am im driving in the middle of nowhere and on the phone with my wife. all of a sudden i see out of the corner of my eye something coming toward my truck from out of the air..BAM! hits my passenger side windshield, nearly caving it in (one big spider web, lots of glass dust in the truck). what my brain tells me i see flapping against the windshield is a scarf...during the 1/2 mile or so it takes me to stop i am FREAKING OUT thinking that somehow ive hit someone. going through my mind "no one in the road...how could someone have flown into my truck?!?!". but i am CONVINCED that what i see is a persons scarf. get out of the truck...and what appeared to me to be a scarf was in fact the wing of a large owl.

driving in florida i witnessed the aftermath to an suv driver (made national news) that killed one or more of his kids, took the rest in his suv and purposely swerved into the path of a semi. when i passed the scene, there was a single police car at the scene...no ambulance, no fire. this accident must have happened 5 minutes or less before i passed it...if id woken up just a bit earlier, couldve easily been me he chose as the instrument of his childrens' murder.

finally, i once passed a truck (normal box van semi supposed to be 13'6" tall) that had obviously been picked up by a tornado. the truck was upside down, and less than 6' tall...looked like a truck pancake.

I experienced a carrier who paid 8% less than the miles actually driven and wanted me to fuel, inspect, and maintain their truck for free. They also wanted me to sit for 3 hours as 3 skids were put on, off the clock. Then, they expected my to find a safe location to sleep at when all the parking spaces in the county were taken no fewer than 4 hours ago. They also wanted me to find a way to make up for the lost 2 hours due to shipper delay, and make the scheduled delivery appointment time, regardless .... wait ... that goes on every day, so maybe it's not so "wild and crazy"
