US Xpress...my experience so far

Yes, if you move to PA, you will have to pay PA State Income Taxes. If you family in Florida, I would keep my official residence there regardless of where "home" is.

 

Well I am going to orientation again this week. I worked for us xpress back in 2011 on the family dollar account and left for family reasons. I am coming back because I enjoyed working for the company and really had no issues with the company. I intended on coming back this time to run teams with a friend of mine. Unfortunately he isn't able to go otr so now I'm kind of in a pickle. I really wanted to team and I might even try to meet someone currently with xpress or someone wanting to team with this company. Hopefully it will work out

 

How does it work for home time with teams? If your partner needs to be home but you want to keep driving, is that possible or are you required to be off at the same time regardless?

 

you would need to check with your fm.... when i was a company driver i did it a few times.. drop the wife at home and run solo for a few weeks then swing by the house and pick her up

 

I hear hometime is a joke at USX? I know we drive to make money but we make money for the family and some semblance of normality in life is needed. Not a see you when I see you type of thing.

 

We never once had a problem getting home. We usually got home early. I have talked to others who had problems. It is all dependent on your relationship with your Fleet Manager. Blanket statements like this are rarely accurate

 

I worked for a year with my wife as a team. No time at home. They a doctors appointment did they get me therewith 40 days notice. No No No after a year needed time off. They did not car. Offered a new truck. Ha Ha

 

We managed our relationship with our fleet manager. Never had a single problem getting home on time. Ever.

 

Never mind highjacking the thread ? What happened to the OP ? Started in August . Disappeared in December . There seems to be a black hole swallowing up newbies here .

 

I have thought about US Xpress or Averitt because of a good friend (Also graduating about the same time) who wants to do teams. I know that we would have to go out 3 weeks with different trainers if we go with US Xpress. However, my question is... would we be able to do the 8 weeks together or with does it have to be someone else. I haven't had a chance to talk to a recruiter. So, I thought that I would ask on here. Thanks for any information.
