Why not, if you get a job offer. The best companies never have to place ads. This company doesn't haul beverages, does it?

I was thinking of a different company. Good luck whatever you decide. If the o/o package is good, let me know. I'll hook to or buy another reefer for the right deal.

A lot of times drivers that love their companies want to keep it a secret. Besides that it is often just plain hard getting info on these small companies anyway. Either way you are better off aiming for these smaller companies than getting burned by a mega-carrier!

I've driven for smaller companies last 2 jobs. like them. they're usually more of a laid back place.

When I go in for the interview, I tell them up front how I run, LEGAL.

No lights out, bald tires, ect. If you dispatch and the freight is already late, I'm sorry. I ain't driving 24 hrs straight to cover your mistake. you can ask, I'll fudge a little, but don't expect it.

I've been out here too long to lose my CDL and have to get a real job and WORK.

Oh, I've run the outlaw route yrs ago, lol, but now there's too much enforcement and I'm just plain tired.

Like one other poster said ...the good ones don't have to run ads, their drivers do most of the recruiting for them...friends take care of friends. Usually a guy with a great job knows 1 or 2 guys that he would recommend.

This is very true. With a small company there is no re-powering loads, etc. Many times it's get it there or else. Not saying all are like this, but from my experience, the smaller company usually has less resources in the event of a problem, and potentially much to lose if a load is late.
