Stupid mistake

I was on hometime and the truck was parked at the local Pilot, I get out the truck and lock my keys in the truck along with the car keys....and I had a date that night.....freaking grr. The police were kind enough to get me in.

 

Just had that here.. I run a local shuttle.. Last driver apparently locked the doors on the way out and didn't know it.. I get there, and can't get in.. No other keys.. Grrrrrrrr.. One of the other drivers shows up and has a slim jim in his car (didn't ask, he didn't tell) I was able to open the door, but somehow unhooked the linkage to the handles.. Parked that truck and used our backup clunker while the other truck was repaired... Didn't know about the other trucks key maybe fitting.. will be investigating that when I go back in

 

I hope no criminal types read this thread.

How about a set on a lanyard that you can wear when you leave the truck. It doesn't have to be real heavy like some of the ones for sports.

 

My best was with POV. I was going to fly to CO. Parked my car at my brothers (near airport) and took cab to airport. I am in security and realize I FORGOT to leave keys. (my car blocked his car in) So I had to leave them lost/found, his wife had to swing by to get them. (at least I was into 20k in air.

 

Slim jims are 12 bucks at any truckstop in cali. I got one I can help someone in need.

 

It costed my son in-law $119.00 several years ago to get into his p/u. For some reason the slim wouldn't work on the truck so he ended up having to take out the back window and having it reset and sealed.

 

I locked my butt 3 times out of the truck. Once I removed the side window on the pass door. Then another time I locked my self out under a load truck runnin just fueled parked at island under a hot load. Opened that one with a coat hanger from one of the guys. It was 10 degrees. Then recently I ran out of fuel right...got extra fuel no road service just 5 miles from fuel stop...started truck...got off to close hood cuz I was priming it...I closed the door but somehow managed to lock the door with my elbow with cell inside truck runnin minimal fuel to get to fuel stop......grrrrrr! Lucky for me I had a spare under the chassis cuz it ai t happening 3 times no Sir!

 

Really? That sucks. I bet I could have opened it. I bet he ate that bill too last thing I want to do is call dispatch with "I locked my keys in the truck man" LOL. Forget that. But he was on his pick up but still it sucks.

 

Well I've locked myself out one time to many, I now carry a key around my neck.
