I started my training with covenant transport, I was picked up in chatt.tn. by another trainer to take me to the guy i was suppose to train with. We got to atl at 10 and was suppose to meet with my trainer at 11. Well finally at 9 that night my trainer finally showed. I got in his truck we went over rules the first rule was no phones while driving, i was 100% agreeable. Next rule was i could only use the clutch for the first week, i wasnt comfortable with that rule im fresh out of truck driving school..Finally we hit the road pick up a trailer and head to dalton ga.. we pull in the truck stop at 6 in the morning to sleep. he says i will get up early and start driving to houston so we can get there with time to spare and that i could takeover driving at 4 that afternoon.. finally he gets up at 1 that afternoon tries to set the tandems on the truck and has to call his wife to ask what to do!!!! im like uhhh and your a trainer??? So wefinally hit the road at 3 and he keeps talking about not wanting to drive thru louisiana because child support people are looking for him, i said dude ill drive thru matter of fact i can drive the whole trip to houston if u want because you have already gotten 2 of the 12 hour drive out the way.. so he goes on and on we pull into a truck stop in tuscaloosa al. (ROLL TIDE!!!!) He takes me in to show me where to shower and he says that he is about to shower.. So i take at least and hour in the bathroom and finally head to the truck. He's sitting there with the same clothes on and i can tell he hasn't showered. He says he is on the phone with his wife and then he says ill talk to him. He gets off the phone and says i'm gonna have to break the truck down i cant go thru louisiana..Let me put in that the whole entire time he was driving he was also texting and running off the road and would not let me drive. So we argued about breaking the truck down and i finally told him do what u want.. he breaks the truck down to get rid of the load. but during the process i record him telling me what he done and about a dm that told him to do it and that they were good friends..he tells me the freightlinear in birmingham is 24 hours and when we get there they dont open until monday and its sunday morning.. Keep in mind he is causing me training and driving segements slowing down my process.. i call and tell the fleet manager i want a new trainer i didnt feel safe on the truck and he told me not to get back on, so i call a ride to come get me. the next day i call the company to request a new trainer and they say i have to talk and meet with them and they would call me and let me know when, that was monday and i still have not heard from them.. What should i do??

Be proactive.. Call them, explain the situation again (speak to someone with some authority and can make a decision) give them a time frame to resolve the situation..
Record/document everything and find another training company.
good luck -
An hour in the shower? You will have to speed it up some. A lot of truck stops you have a waiting line for showers..
It is DOT Reg that you cannot be on the phone while driving. Talking or texting unless you are BT'd. Some big fines.Lonesome Thanks this. -
You can use a phone while driving, it MUST be a hands free device.

if he's so worried about driving thru louisiana, He needs to pull up his panties and drive legal, and chances are won't have a problem.
why is he a truck driver. -
If Louisiana is like GA with child support his license are suspended for child support back pay

Sounds like you drew the short straw for trainers. Insist on a new one, but be preppared to sit until they can get you together with the new trainer.
