I'm sitting at Gerdau Charlotte in a looong line that hasn't moved in over an hour. I also have 1.5 hours on my 14. I will be out of hours before I even get loaded, much less tarped, and there's no overnight parking here, and I gotta call breakdown once I'm loaded because 3 of the lights on the back of my trailer, and the license plate light don't work.

Why do they keep sending me to pick up loads when my 14 is almost up???

They do have parking there. When you first come in the gate, if you keep going straight all the way to the end of the road and turn left, you can follow the loop around and park on the right hand side. It comes out back next to the guard shack. If you are unsure what I am talking about, the guard will know. Hope this helps!

Thanks! That's actually exactly where I've been sitting in line for about 2 hours. The WA says "No parking" , but I can't see why they wouldn't let me park here. Now to see if they'll let me park just past the front gate after I'm loaded so the breakdown guy can find me. Thanks again NC_Rider!

If it is gonna be light when you leave in the morning....you can drive to a T/A and get the lights fixed. Only if it's light though. IDK what the service charge to Maverick would be for emergency electrical work would be.....but I wouldn't want to pay it. Plus you can get some sleep too instead of baby sitting the service guy. Just my .02

I meant to ask my recruiter this when I talked to him about my application but forgot to do so, does Maverick pay for unloaded miles and is it the same CPM as loaded if they do?

I do not.mind.at all being sent anywhere if they let me spend the night. If they won't, I just call safety and tell them I have to move.

Well, yesterday my truck was having transmission issues, AGAIN. Got it reset, AGAIN. The today right as I was about to get on 94 to head towards 912 to get to the Gary yard for the night, my FM calls me and tells me that when I roll into the yard to move my stuff into #13261. Yep, got me a new 2013 today. Never realized how much crap I had accumulated in my truck over the past year! LOL. So, anyways, my new truck number is 13261. Wave if ya see me!
