Today I learned that when it comes to the special requests we are supposed to get, even if one is approved, and no matter how important it is, they really don't mean ####!!!

In three years I have never missed one. I always remind them the week it is supposed to happen. Gusts I have just been fortunate to have good fleet managers.

Request was to be home by 1pm tomorrow. I made it over 2 weeks ago and it was approved. I also spoke to my FM about it when I did it. All week, I have been sent further away from home, but held out hope that I would make it back in. Today, about 30 mins before I unloaded I received a preplan to pick up in Russelville KY between 1 and 3 tomorrow afternoon, which is when I was supposed to be home! At the time of the preplan, I had over 7 hours on my 14 and over 5 to drive. I was empty about an hour and a half later. When I called in to ask about it, I was told my FM wasn't there and that I wasn't the only NC driver in the area needing a load. That load got me home around Midnight Friday night. When I said that wouldn't get me home in time, I was told that the request could be taken off and used later if I wanted. I said that was fine, and then the preplan was taken off as well and I now have nothing! Now I'm stuck at the truckstop till tomorrow! I busted my ### all week to get home for nothing!

Id have talk with your regular fm about that to figure out what the deal was and get it fixed so it dont happen again. I had a fm do me that way once while my regular fm was on vacation. I gave my regular fm the story and she took care of it. That fm didnt last long at maverick, she was costing Maverick too many drivers for crap like that. So at least say something so Maverick has a record of it in case this fm is a routine offender as i call the bad ones who dont give a ####

Hey I'm from SC bout a hour and a half from laurinburg, NC and I was thinking about going with Maverick and I was wondering would they be a good company for me to go with?? How would my hometime be?? Would I be able to get on pulling flatbed pulling in the Atlantic division as a newbie or would I have to go straight OTR first?? Does maverick have any freight lanes in SC?? Do you guys pick up at the Nucor plant in Darlington, SC that's literally 20-25 min from my house. Thanks in advance any feed back given is greatly appreciated.

RAT (Regional Atlantic Division) is one of the OTR divisions. Home on weekends for your 34 or a little better, 98% of the time or so. I never get down that way but if there is a steel plant close by that would likely be a good thing for you. Ask Mason at recruiting for details.

Super singles, auto trans and snow! Well got my chance to try it out today. Loaded no different than regular tires. Empty maybe slightly more challenging, but learned a trick today. I was turning around in an unplowed parking lot with a hill. Once I started spinning I stopped and locked the differentials then put transmission in creep mode and she just crawled right out without slipping a wheel.
