Stevens transports is a big fancy overated joke. This company will promise all kinds of crap.they are the worst paying company I have ever seen. I have years of experience and they offered me 350:00 a week for running 48 states.who are they kidding.I. made 900 dollars and never left the state.they lie and make their money off of new boot drivers.my advice is stay far far away from stevens transport.

don't mean to sound rude, but if you have "years" of experiance why did you go with a starter company? it sounds to me like you didnt do your research on them. good luck!
Slickshoes and maxwelltie Thank this. -
I thought that 350 per week was their rate of pay while you were over the road with a trainer, then once you go solo you are paid by the mile.

It is. I guess they wanted him to go out with a trainer and he wasn't feeling it

Stevens is a training company. They have developed themselves to be that type of company.
When I joined Stevens 6 years ago, they paid me according to my experience. I was paid 0.38 to start.
I spent one week with a trainer to learn the procedures (and I hadn't pulled a reefer previously)
I leased a truck under their Alliance program and increased my income, then when my lease was up, I bought my truck and now an O/O, under contract to Stevens.
I understand now, they may require more time with a trainer than when I started, but if you have years of verifiable experience, why go to a training company. At least when I started, they were still in the throws of transistion. The primary reason I went with Stevens at that time was the the collapsing economy (just starting), they were in food, which is more stable than dry goods and flat bed, and they didn't (and largely still don't) throw chains. I'm too old for that crap anymore.
If you're new to the business, Stevens is a great place to start. If you have years of experience, there are other companies that will pay you more and treat you better.
I stay because this is the last place (hopefully) I'll work. When this truck is worn out, it will be time to retire.jtquincy Thanks this.
