I will NEVER drive team again, hell I may not ever drive a truck again, by choice. My experience with CRST was HORRIBLE. I abandoned the truck and told them to go &^@^&# themselves

I hav been with u.s.for about 43 months.staight out of driving school and dont think u should worry about what recruiter said.i did the three says orientation then 150u hrs with a trainer. Afer that i did 8the weeks forced team.after that they asked me what i wanted i said otr they suggested dedicated .its a midwest kinda region but they pay same loaded or empty plus stops.they only send me home when i ask its not maditory.all the teams i hav talkt to here say they run the country and i did when i was teaming..but definitely check out all other options. U.s. is just fine for me and alot of other drivers but dont jump at the first offer u get n this industry. I really havnt been at it long enough to know but reading this forum and listening to drivers who hav been out here has given me some insight ..goodluck and b safe

This is totally incorrect.
The $58 a day is trainee pay.NightShifter, mje, 123456 and 2 others Thank this. -
what did CRST do that was bad?If you were team, why did'nt your co driver justt take trk back to term?
-
What the recruiter said is all true for solo. It is not true for team. She probably just misunderstood what was going on with the two of you.
The training period shouldn't be a whole month though. That would make it $58 a day for about two and a half weeks.
As a team you would be running all 48 at a flat rate.
You are supposedly allowed to get home time every other weekend, but that's not a requirement by any stretch of the imagination. Recruiters tell people that because most people find lots of home time to be attractive.
USX has the miles, especially for teams. If you have read Anne and Craig's stuff you have a pretty good picture of what life with USX is all about if you apply yourself like they do.
If you want a better recruiter talk to Scarlett. -
I agree because the recruiter said they would be receiving that for a month.

My guess is that poster's experience with any company would have been "horrible".
I started with CRST. They were not horrible, but you and your husband will make more money with USX because the cpm rate is better at USX.
Oops, I should have said the OP and her husband....
Wasn't paying attention to who posted that, sorry.CasinoGal Thanks this. -
YES ! Scarlett's info is pretty close to what can be expected.

As stated in a couple of posts, the information you were given is for a solo driver. As a married team you will be paid $58 a day each during orientation and training. Training is 120 hours behind the wheel and it should take about three weeks. Circumstances can make it a little shorter or longer. After that you will take an upgrade test which includes some easy written tests and a short driving and backing test. Then you and your husband will be put in your own truck (most likely a brand new International ProStar) and you will be paid .32 a mile for the first eight weeks, that pay kinda sucks but it is only eight weeks. Then, if you have your hazmat endorsement you will make .48 a mile on all loads. You NEED hazmat, get it done when you get your CDL. It pays .04 a mile on all loads, not just hazmat so that means an extra $8,000 to $10,000 a year in income. It also makes you available for more loads so less sitting. Make sure you ask about the New Team sign on bonus. Unless it is changed they are paying a $5,000 bonus ($2,500 each) paid out over the first year.
If you work hard and deliver on time and build a relationship with your Fleet Manager, you should average 5000 to 6000 miles a week, We usually took four days off a month all at once. Getting home and coming back out screws up your miles. so trying to do it more than once a month will hurt you financially.
All of this information is accurate and based upon experience with USX, not hearsay.
