Try it, if it is say, 15 degrees out, and your truck won't idle with a trailer, disconnect and pull out from under the trailer.
I was BT at P&G the other day waiting for my load, 2 hours my truck never shut off, it was about 10 outside. This was at 4PM. About 6 when my load was ready, I grabbed it and drove 9 miles up the road to a pilot, parked and went inside to go to the bathroom, when I came out, my truck was off, it wouldn't stay idling. I was wondering why it would idle and P&G and not at the pilot, as it had actually gotten colder....so I disconnected from my trailer and pulled out the drives, it idled all night.ricecakeftw and Bigdubber Thank this. -
That does make sense, the trailer would hold the heat from your motor down by the sensor. Worth a try for sure.

Wel that's actually some good news to hear and maybe during the summer months, do that same thing?
-
I'll have to keep that in mind as well when I start driving. Just hope I don't forget to rehook before leaving. That would suck.

Anyone else catch that bug thats been going around? It sucks! Been sick the last 3 days and its been miserable! I just dropped my loaded at the home depot dc in Tracy CA. They didnt have any empties and I didnt have a preassignment yet so I pushed out my nat for tomorrow morning. Doubt Ill be getting a preassignment any time soon considering how many drivers are sitting here at french camp. Right now I dont mind sitting too much though.

unhooking from the trailer in some places is nearly impossible due to tight spaces. Wouldn't it be best to just move the stupid sensor up under the transponder unit on the back of the trailer? I really think the penny pinchers don't wanna fix this problem.

There are lots of things SNI does that I don't agree with.....but I can't change them, so I make do. I have seen to many truck stops(maybe a couple) where it is just to tight to pull out your drives. 9 times out of 10, there is at least one truck sticking out that far because the truck behind them parked way far back into another spot.
