one of my uncles does and he is doing good but sometimes he spends his day waiting to get unloaded
blacklabel Thanks this. -
I did it last week all week and have done it quite a bit. The biggest thing i can say is you have to know your shipper and recievers and know how long it takes from point a to point b. Also it takes a toll on the body from alot of up and down on the trailer and in and out of the truck.
blacklabel and mje Thank this. -
When the pay is right I will do them all the time.

Been doing it for about a year now VA to MD,PA,NJ,NY then back to VA. Short runs pay better less fuel used. Sourdiesel

I got tired more running 400 mile loads than OTR, but made more money. Depends on what is available in your area.

Right now from what I have been seeing most of the short hauls aren't paying all to well, but there is some that are still paying very good. I did two of them last week.
-
They are more work, but like you said, you can usually make more money.
