So I finally land a newer cascadia and was running it for about 2 weeks without sharing.
finally had a city driver I have to share with, and the first night of sharing, I get in it and OMG it smells like a freaking ashtray. I mean I open the door and it wreaked of cigarette smoke, so I can tell this guy smokes with the windows up.
Now I mean i don't care if you smoke, but do it outside the truck.. Luckily I had to drive my old truck for a few nights, but I am dreading getting back in tonight.
I mean I wash the #### truck once a week, clean the inside out after my shift. Why are some drivers such disgusting filthy animals...I am going to raise hell about it here shortly.

I am a newbe only driving part time over night on weekends so always slip seated, but hear you. I always leave the truck in better shape than I find it. I can hardly believe some of the stuff I find. The junk food wrappers, fast food pieces and parts (sometimes petrified), leaking cups still in the cup holders. Makes you wonder what their homes look like.
keepitsimple and Cetane+ Thank this. -
I would say something to him. -
Isn't it against Con-Way policy to smoke in the equipment? All of our guys where I was were good about that and smoked when they were outside of the truck

One night I had to drive a truck from a different terminal that we had for maintenance. It had been at our terminal for a week, sitting at the shop, so no one was using it. The truck was the nastiest thing I have ever seen. This driver smoked cigars in the truck with the windows up and vents blowing. There were still cigar butts jammed into the ashtray and on the floor. It was (quite literally) nauseating to sit in that truck for any amount of time, even after a week of the guy not being in it. I ended up running all night with both windows down and the defroster cranked to try and air this disgusting thing out even though it was 10 degrees outside that night. I really wish there were designated "no smoking" trucks at work.

It is a real problem. I used to be a Company Driver and when i was off, and another Driver needed a truck because his was in the shop, they would give him my truck for that day that i was off, when i came back the next day, that cigarette Smell would shut close my nose nostrils and would have to breath through my mouth! It affects me very much. But again, they see it like a work truck and dont care about fellow Drivers! The dam smell will even stick on the roof opholstry!

Saw an ABF city driver kicked back with his muddy boots on the wheel/windshield. He still had to drive afterwards. Gross.

Seems the mentality of some "it's not mine, who cares?". Thankfully hubby doesn't have to share his truck, but he keeps it clean because it's his home away from home - he sleeps & eats in there. When he comes back to his home terminal, I always go up there and help him clean the inside and outside thoroughly - just in case.
I always wondered about those people who kept a dirty vehicle (theirs or company-owned) filthy/dirty and what their house looks like. Barf!Trucail Thanks this. -
maybe if you leave some old underwear with skid marks on the seat ,just maybe the other driver will take the hint and not smoke in the truck
