some of the newer trucks are preforming service every 45000 miles, grease every 15000 miles. i think that is too many miles but am not a engineer either.

Hey, it's their truck. If they want me to bring it in once every 5 years I got no problem with that. haha

It seems like everything that has an engine is going to longer service intervals. I work for Toyota right now and all the new cars use 0-20 synthetic oil with it being changed every 10k. But yeah since it's their truck I'll do the service when they want it done especially since I won't be the one footing the bill.

Well from my experience a lot of manufacturers are going to the thinner oils because they are making clearances so much smaller because apparently that helps the engine be more efficient. I think it's ridiculous because with that light of oil it burns so much easier. One of Toyotas standards for their enginrs running that oil is that burning one quart every 1200 miles is acceptable.

My 08 F-150 used 5w20 and my 12 F-250 uses 5w20. Hell the two trucks even use the same filter. Pretty sure Ford uses it on everything.
