Lease. The folks who lease from Prime were experienced truckers and were all happy with their income. Lots of them were floating around trying to get a new truck for their 2nd or 3rd lease.

Food was OK. If ya want dessert and soda you may have to fork over an extra $1.00-$1.50. No big deal.

The folks in charge of classes don't have a sense of humor. As a matter of fact, it appeared to me they carried many chips on their shoulders. The class before taking the actual written test was a good example. I was practicing with another guy who was very good at coming up with the right answers to the written test. We both forgot to take the manual with us but we were actually over prepared. The female instructor seemed insulted when we told her we were ready for the test. She then accused us of not wanting to be in her class and also of know everything type of guys. I told her extra knowledge is always welcome.

I was the first one in and out of the test and did very well. I kept my mouth shut. My friend even did better with perfect scores all around. the mistake he made was seeking out the female instructor and rubbing it in her face, so to speak, as a joke. She wasn't too happy about that. When I went to get my pay for mileage, this other lady asked me if I was the one who 'disrespected' that other instructor. Of course I said no, but the feeling remained that the other kid was in trouble..

Keep a low profile. Don't try to joke or be friendly with them. Study for the written before you get down there, as I did.

The motel room was spotless. I was way in the back and was surprised how clean it was. Kudos to housekeeping.

If you have the money, there are tons of places close by to eat.

It may be a good idea to meet folks in the cafeteria. I met a guy who appeared to be a very good trainer and got his number...for the next time I go to training.

The truck simulator is interesting I got dizzy as many others have.

Prime is a great opportunity. Lots of ways to make money. Great training.

always nice to hear a positive post about a company. id be even more interested to see a post from one of these lease operators you refer to. many people here asking about leases all the time...and there are SO many crooked lease deals out there. would be nice to get someone with specific answers to questions regarding their POSITIVE experience with a lease deal.

I'll totally agree about "she who shall not be named."

I'm an instructor and she treats some of us like crap too.

what was the "out of pocket" expenses? For example, Millis makes you pay $500 first day of class, Roehl makes you pay $400 for hotel, Central makes you pay $420 for locks and deposit. These amounts were not included with license fees and utilities. So, what about Prime?

Once u are assigned your own truck you have to buy your locks and load locks, plus chains. These can all be charged against the truck and you can have the amount taken out of your settlement over time. much like a payment plan.
