Yep, I'm a noob...

    Howzit, everyone! I'm a noob to the site and to the industry. I've been selling fly fishing equipment (or as i like to call it "adult toys" rofl) and running fishing charters for the past 10 years, and have grown seriously tired of dealing with retail... So I decided to make a huge career change and finally make some decent money. Yes, I said that. I know that a lot of truckers are not satisfied with their income, but its better than what I've been making, the economy has not been kind to the "Non-essential Retail Sector". Also, As some of you might have heard, a boat is a black hole that you just put all of your money into.
    I have thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts, tips, and rants and raves. This site is awesome, as are all who contribute. Thank you!

    Deadphish, I feel ya man. I quit a career as a high school teacher because I was so sick and tired of the BS. And the money will be much better for me, teaching isn't a rich profession. From what little I've drove in school, I can tell I'm going to like it. I lucked out and start at Averitt on Monday!

    I haven't even been to orientation, that is on Monday. I'm a local boy so I know a few here that work for Averitt. To a person I've heard nothing but good about the company. I'm looking forward to some quality management for a change! Crappy companies aren't limited to the trucking industry.

    Vegas, I'm in scuba boards.com also.
