Reefer's are the only way to go. Wouldn't know what to do if I didn't have a big ol unit on the front of my trailer. Especially to jump my truck when my batteries die. Those shiney doors and the chrome on the front of those reefer's. Who wouldn't want to haul reefers. So what you have to wait sometimes. In the old days we would use that time to allow our log book to catch up with us. Now we use that time to try to make that late load get their on time. Now meat hauling is where its at. That produce hauling is for the birds. Those 6 pickups and 5 drops can make a nice check if it doesn't take 3 days to pick up and deliver. Or they don't reject all the product. Back 12 years ago it wasn't nothing to sit at Swift/JBS in Greeley for 2 or 3 days. Then have to be in Houston the next morning. Woop woop truck it up. I like it so much. I work for the company now. Made 60g's last year. Maybe they will send me up to Greeley to pick up and I'll wave after I hook and book on out of their. G day. Aint no feeling like meat mobillN.
Chinatown, RubberDuckie and scottied67 Thank this. -
I've only picked up in Greeley once, every other time I weaseled out of it. The time I did I got over $200 in detention. I would never drive for a company that didn't pay detention on he pickup end, that's just a ripoff.
Now I run reefers on a dedicated fleet, and most of my loads are drop and hook at both ends. That's the way to go in reefers.Chinatown and RubberDuckie Thank this. -
Well, you could, oh I don't know, stop working for companies who haul things that require you to work a trillion times harder than what your paychecks are worth (one reason I don't pull a reefer or a flatbed), start pulling a tank, and start living the easy life every driver would live if they would just knock it off with the slave labor and leave the unloading to other people. Call me lazy if you want, better to be lazy than to be a sucker.Chinatown and RubberDuckie Thank this.

Only way I would ever pull a box again is if it's dry and I get to go home at least a couple times a week. Running OTR and pulling a box and all the bull #### that comes with it? Never again

Act aren't you the same guy who told Indian River to go stick it where the sun don't shine. You were going to go pull for Swift on the wal mart dedicated. Then you said I guess it didn't work out for you. So you tried to go to Conway, and they wouldn't hire you. You said you were never going back on the road, and you are back with Indian River otr. LOL come on man we don't forget.
