SE Freight Systems London,ON Canada . A word of warning !

The U.S. and Canada are different countries and different in many ways....but not in the ways the trucking industry operates! You were able to survive as an O/O (barely) with this outfit and you will work hard to keep your business going now that you are done with them. Good riddance to SE. Good luck to you.

 

I think what poster was meaning that the industry has suffered from the lack of integrity that a driver offers and not standing up to a company or its dispatch . Most companies lie to get you there and then you are stuck since you have a family and have bills bills bills , if there was any unity these such companies would not exist plain and simple .

 

I have worked for SE for 2 years and still do. I however am in a little different situation. I only work P/T and do not rely on them for a living. I have seen the nonsense and abuse that drivers experience on a daily basis from this company. Pushed to drive over hours, poorly maintained trucks, lack of respect from owner, poor pay, promises never kept, false advertising about their "wonderful record and safety".

My most recent problems have been going to the yard with expectations of doing a run to find there is no trailer there or no tractor, expected to wait for these with no compensation, expected to do extra work for no extra money. I am sure the management motto is conquer and divide. They are fearful drivers will talk among themselves and realize how poorly treated they are.

If you are considering employment here talk to some drivers, I am sure that after learning the truth you will reconsider and move on to find a real company.

 

Update, SE has cancelled my benefits, they are trying to squeeze me out. Off come the gloves!

 

I am good with it, SE has such a bad rep they wont even post job openings under their own name. With a little luck I will be changing careers permanently in June but I am going to stick this one out for a bit to see if I can help make a difference for the other drivers.

I like a challenge.

 

looks like,they just went belly up.It's on the local news.One million dollars house,new Jaguar.........sounds so familier with certain kind of business people.
I got burned twice,working for a guys who fit perfectly in the description of this guy.
Feel really sorry for the guys,who worked there till last days and they won't see a penny for their hard work.
It's about time that MTO or government will implement some tough rules,that not anybody who is crocked and liar and tief,would have chance to open the company,get as much $$ as he can,then declare the bankruptcy and laugh in the people faces.

 

Where did you see this on the news?

I'm working for a company right now that is pulling the same thing with many of their drivers.
They maintain their equipment however and there are a lot of mikes. Still, it's really unethical how they charge the drivers for late loads, repairs, insurance--
I've talked to the labour board and the rep said that 90% of their case load is trucking industry related.

The things they never told us in school....
