Because its just a little common sense driver. If a truck is obviously going faster than you can go and are passing you, albeit slowly, it takes no effort to let off the throttle and get them by.

There's a little button on your cruise called "coast", and another called "resume", used in conjunction they can be pretty effective. Unless you'd rather just have that truck sit beside you for 5 or 6 miles. Not to mention that you know darn well that guy that takes forever to pass is going to cut over just as soon as he clears your bumper.

My husband drives one of those slower trucks and has no problem with coasting for a minute to let a faster truck by. Whats the big deal? You would rather they hump along beside you?

I can't think of one darn single thing that could go wrong under those cercumstances.:biggrin_2554:

I was almost run over in a truck stop by an #####@&le driving WAY too fast in any lot, after I checked my shorts I yelled at him when he slid up to the pumps and he gave me the finger, I calmly walked over and gave him 5 fingers with 290 lbs of force behind it.

Im told I suffer fools poorly......

Slowing down to let someone back over who is just going a little faster than you is called driver ettiquite. Otherwise you are just an ####. Anyone knows that being able to do 1 or 2 miles an hour faster is enough to want to get by and go. A good driver knows this. When you have governed engines, that's all you can do. By not helping out, you are just adding to the problem of drivers getting tired of dealing with other drivers who don't care about anyone but themselves. That is why we are then stuck with grouches on the road. Be nice, kharma's a #@$%!

Very true, I am not in a race and only takes a flip of the splitter to take it down so someone can get past me and back in the lane.

Yes and please remember that when u come down an on ramp and the other governed driver has fought their way out in the left lane to let YOU in--don't match speeds-hold that last few mph and let them back over--it is the right thing to do--o and ifn a big ol large unit pulls over 4 u--we ain't all runnin mach 1--so if u wonder why a mile it two down the road i am slowing down when i no there is no possible way for u to get into traffic(@that point)in the hammer lane--think bout it--i had to drop a gear burn an Xtra gallon of EXPENSIVE FUEL just so i can get back over and out of the way--kinda my way if sayin u just pissed me off--and ya I've heard all ur excuses--but remember i coulda acted like u and made u stop at the end of the ramp--so b courteous!
    Just sayin:D:D
