If they are running hard, they should both hit their 70hours in 5 days. Then go home for the reset....

I had slightly misunderstood. In order to take a 34hr reset, it has to include to periods of 1am-5am.
Your 70hr on-duty time is now 70 in 7 days, not 70 in 8 days.
Also, you can't drive more than 8 hours without taking a 30min break.

Yup. Shouldn't really affect a lot of drivers...I don't think I could drive 8 hours anyways without taking a break, and since I log average miles per hour and not real time, it's easy to get another 15 mins.

 

Why don't you buy a truck like on truckpaper.com or some affiliated website that way you won't have a truck payment and you wont be locked into a contract or anything. There are some nice trucks on there that are pretty cheap, yea they do have a lot of miles but a lil tlc the truck will last a long time.. I seen a truck today, international long nose, decked out in chrome.. driver said it had 1,840,000 miles... and had been taken care of so its not impossible... and just out of curiosity, these occurrences with "your buddy" did they happen at night?
