Here are some reason(s) why you should not consider working for "Selective Express, Inc" located in El Paso, Texas at the address of 12797 Harnose Drive.
1. They will pay a solo driver .31 cpm
2. Tarping loads - 25.00
3. They will give you .03 cents more to haul plated copper from Arizona which to say could be picked up from Safford or even Morenci, Az at the copper mines.
4. You will constantly have to move your equipment around from one flatbed to another...this will consist of your straps, chains, binders and even your tarps not to mention your bungies. You will have to do this quite often. Reads like alot of work for such little pay doesn't it, well it is.
5. Concerning insurance, they do not offer medical, dental, vision or anything like that, although they do offer some disability insurance presently.
6. Paychecks - they pay every week, but while your out on the road, you have to wait to get your money until you return back to their yard in El Paso. They will give you a daily advance of $25.00 on your fuel card which to say is Comdata but they do not have a payroll side setup like most companies do where you can access your money. You will have to fuel up at Pilots and Flying J Truck Stops only.
7. If the truck happens to break down on you after everybody has left the office for the day, basically, you will have to wait until 5:00 a.m. the next morning to get something done due to the fact that there is no night dispatch to offer you any assistance. Why you might ask, the owner of the company doesn't want to be bothered while he's at home. You will have numbers to call, but the problem that you will run into is that they hardly ever answer their phones after hours.

When you interviewed for this job didn't you ask any questions? You accepted a job that you didn't ask how much it pays, how often and in which manner do you pay, and do they have medical insurance available and at what cost. Comment #3 I don't understand. Where they want you to fuel the truck is up to them, after all it is their truck. They probably have a pilot fleet account and get a discount. So you have to move your equipment from time to time, it's called work.
You shouldn't be upset with the company, you should be mad at your self for being ill informed.
