Yep you "thought" wrong. don't know how long you've been driving but some weekends are longer than others, Thursday thru sunday even. Some weekends you might have time to wash your clothes at home but you'll have to fashion a clothesline in the truck to dry them in order to get the load to the delivery on time. that's trucking. "home" is where you hang your hat. "day off" is 24 hours off duty. Enjoy every second of every hour of every day when you do get "home", take the good with the bad, or be perpetually peeved.

been through it a couple of times in 5 years with Maverick. Not hard at all to get a fuel bonus.

You got that right a couple is 2 or has it been three. LOL
we don't call you the golden child for nothing. LOL -
Sarge, coalheart is longhaul if i remember him correctly. So for him to expect 2-3 full days for three weeks out isnt unreasonable and is my understanding that is what longhaul gets. 1 day for every 7 out. If mav is only giving these guys 34hrs home after 3wks out then its changed since the last i heard.

Dan you are right. He needs to talk to his fleet manager about getting some time off. Maybe just through circumstances of the loads he had to get him home to make delivery he could not stay for all this time off.
-
Didn't know you were long haul but you might want to mention something to your FM. My 1st year with Maverick was hung out 13 times, 6 of those were back to back weekends, and on the 3rd week out after letting him know, when they got me near the house, was usually home Thursday or Friday at the latest, MT, and not asked to get back in the truck until Monday am
-
One week out versus 2 or more regarding home time, And long haul goes way out west where you are required to carry tire chains

No teams allowed at Maverick. Trainers are in the bobblehead seat when a student's behind the wheel. I've had some really good students, but wouldn't be comfortable in the sleeper with some guy driving that I just met.
