    So how safe is your mileage pay plan when they start giving you short runs that eat up too much time sitting waiting to load and unload? If the company you lease to wants to stay in business, they need to make the loads worth their while (the rate). As long as the percentage is reasonable, you both are going to make money, or neither of you will make money. On mileage they can give you all the short BS and pay you straight mileage rates appropriate for long hauls, while they laugh all the way to the bank collecting the high rate. Sure working percentage you'll get crap paying loads, but at some point you have to turn around, and a lane has to pay good in one direction or the other.
