it's hard for me to say whats best for you,only you can decide that.it's kinda a catch 22 thing,if you dont try it you may regret it,but you may regret it if you dont try. that would be another thing to schnieder,if you do try it and it doesnt work for you,can you go back to company driver.it's really not that hard being an O/O, it's more just planning ahead,and asking others about their experince.A low overhead is key. that truck payment is good,the miles are good also,you do know the truck,all things that help you to know what to expect.feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

Find companies that will let you lease on a truck that old. That's all I can input on this subject.

if your going to put me on the spot,yes it's worth the try,just make sure you ask alot of question before you sign,maybe your stepdad has some input or other O/O's already leased on there. never have to much info.and like Chinatown said "make sure you ask about the age of the truck"
