This is a pretty broad question but do you guys think the 359 exhd's will be worth anything as far as classic value goes ? I have a chance to buy one that needs quite a bit of work, but would be a good start to a great truck.
THANKS
359 exhd Pete ??

I am no expert AT ALL! But I'm guessing it'll be worth something down the road. Pete as of now do not make the exhd anymore. So if they still don't make them 20 years down the road, they'll be rare and worth more money.

Get it!! trust me it'll pay off I have a short hood and its my baby
-
It is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it, nothing more.

Scrap steel is how much a 100 lb?
-
Scrap is cheap now. Autocar is right. Only worth what someone will give. Me personally, unless it was $100,000 I wouldn't part with mine. It is my first truck and wouldn't sell it for the world. And if somebody wanted it for that 100 grand I wouldn't buy a new one. An a model kw with a kta and 6x4 would replace it.

Huh? Last I heard, the 389 offers the longest hood Peterbilt has ever offered and they still make the 389. -
Do some looking on truck paper at what a clean 359 extended hood goes for. And if its an nunbered 87 the prices can can get way up there. If u can get it cheap get it and sell me the hood. I'll move the cab back on my short hood.

Buy a truck for what it will make you/cost you while you drive it. Not based on its resale value. Would you buy a truck that will save you repairs every year but you will sell afterwards for $5000 less or one that will cost you more to run but you might make a few extra bucks when you sell it. The truck makes you money by the work it does, not by actually selling it.

THANKS for everyone's opinions. I was looking at it for more of a project. After seeing more pics the owner likes it more than I do
