I'm getting sick of all the ignorance on this forum when it comes to marijuana. It isn't heroin, it isnt meth... Hell it isn't anywhere near as physically and mentally destructive as alcohol even. Plus there are medical conditions it can legitimately help treat.
I haven't smoked since before I started driving, but I see no problem with someone taking a few hits at home. Legalization is looking more likely these days. People are starting to see it isn't the big scary boogey man they once believed it to be.

I've worked around people who smoked pot heavily most of their lives, it's like dealing with a bunch of 5 year olds. There are more problems with smoking pot than is let out, since it's illegal in most states, there isn't much research done on it as far as health risks.GenericUserName, muledriver, TRKRSHONEY and 1 other person Thank this.

I find this offensive to cancer patients. People with cancer just want to live; they couldn't care less about driving a truck.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
The ignorance lays with the people that think it's ok to smoke and drive a truck. It doesn't matter what it does or doesn't do. The simple fact it's agains't the federal law the therefor you can not use and drive a truck commercially. If you are under the jurisdiction of the FMCSA (which doesn't take a genius to know if you are) you are forbidden. So you can get sick all you want but facts are facts.WV_Daddys_Girl, RickG, cowboy_tech and 3 others Thank this.

An I'm sick of the Fabulous Freak bothers always rushing in to defend pot as if it is completely harmless and or beneficial to the standard human... Pot is stored in fat cells.. your brain is made of fat.. its not water soluble and gone in hours etc etc etc... I don't care in the general public smokes pot, shoots snorts or smokes anything else.. but they #### sure do not have a right to put other people at risk while they do so.
I've known a lot of pot and hash smokers.. most of them.. it is SORT OF like beer drinkers or as I refer to them.. Beer slaves.. after a while they aren't even doing it for enjoyment.. they are just doing it.. I have also seen some really sharp people turned into complete worthless dullards by pot. So please spare us the pot is the magical harmless substance that makes unicorns happy.. Its just a big a load as the "pot will turn you into an ax murderer".
I think people should have the right to do whatever they want... BUT I also feel that right ends with the transportation and other industries and with business owners who have he absolute right to protect their businesses and their other employees from people who insist on taking pharmaceutical vacations from the realities of life.. You have no right to work at my (fictional) company unless you can show up clear headed and ready to work and not be a danger to other people.Dinomite, RockinChair, TRKRSHONEY and 4 others Thank this. -
its against the law to drive under the influence whether it is pot OR beer, or any other mind altering drug.
if you think you can get away with it long-term...go for it, when youre caught (it wont be long, maybe before you ever get behind the wheel) it will be more freight for me to haul because you wont be able to get a driving job.
in my opinion they should drug test the office employees at trucking companies as well as the drivers..at my company they do hair follicle testing and they often do randoms, i generally get random'd one to three times per yr and if they can go that far overboard with drug testing for the drivers..why not the office employees too? they shouldnt be high on the job either.WV_Daddys_Girl Thanks this. -
They are not covered under the law and it would be generally silly and a wasted money and revenue.. not to mention against the constitution that far too many people are babbling about the importance of when its something they they feel effects them.

I wouldn't necessarily say that we cancer patients don't care about anything other than living. Yes, I want to live, but also care about the other areas in/of my life, too. I have a wonderful son, a hard working husband and a career - although my career is on hold at the moment. I'm still very passionate about what I do for a living and although I'm battling this disease, it doesn't stop me from wanting to work and help support my family financially.
Just because one has cancer doesn't mean their lives are over and that they should give up on all those things that give them happiness. However, there are limitations like in this case where truck driving would not be a good fit for what the OP is seeking.RockinChair, RickG, kerosene jockey and 4 others Thank this. -
I'm sorry if the statement I'm about to make offends anyone, and I think it might, but honestly, I think the only reason why a cancer patient needs to smoke marijuana is if they are terminal and in a lot of pain, and don't want to die a painful death - and since they are going to soon die, there is no reason for them to be driving a truck, or any vehicle, if they are in that bad of shape.
Any other excuse is just that, an excuse. There are other pain medications that one can take that you can be on and still drive a truck. And if you're in that bad enough of pain that you think you need to take mind altering drugs, then you're in too much pain to drive the truck anyhow.
This is just my logic speaking.xlsdraw, TRKRSHONEY and WV_Daddys_Girl Thank this. -
Legalization coming soon? Wouldnt that make the burnouts happy. Theres already enough unstable crybaby life hating losers in the biz already. Pot is harmless, is it? If thats so, they should hand joints out to airline pilots and and preschoolers. Ah....just as I thought. Even a crackhead wouldnt want to ride a plane that has a potheaded pilot.
So, whats the real reason burnouts want to do pot? Because it helps them hide the fact that they arent mentally strong enough to function in the real world. Losers.GenericUserName, RockinChair, TRKRSHONEY and 1 other person Thank this.
