Is ur wife a driver to ? What city do u work in?
-
We don't do logs because we don't go past 100 miles from the company yard and my wife is just a stay home wife and I'm currently in Devine, tx
-
that seems weird to me. DOT will still light you up with a $1000 ticket for not keeping a log book
-
Since when? If your within a hundred miles of work base U dont need to keep a log book. But u do need veh. inspection
-
It might seem weird to you but that's how it is right before we get to the yard there is a dot weigh station on I-35 we get checked almost every other day and believe me we don't need a log book but a vehicle inspection report yes we do
-
why have several people from my company gotten tickets for not being current on their logs then? they were within 100 miles. very rarely do we do jobs over 100 miles away and we are required to turn our logs in every day
-
I think if you cross state lines or haul hazmat those exemptions don't count but I might be wrong.

I have a 3/4 ton pick-up truck and a new travel trailer. My plan was to just get to Texas and live in my travel trailer that way I can move around if I find a better/higher paying job once I get myself established in the oil biz.
I really don't plan on quitting my OTR job until I get something in writing from another company, even if it's just a pre-hire letter.
Thanks for the comments... -
